The GSSD is independently governed by a Board of Directors comprising business property owners and operators, residents, representatives of institutions and other stakeholders within the district, as provided for within the bylaws that govern the Germantown Special Services District. The Board has a fiduciary responsibility to the GSSD and hires and overseas the staff who administer the SSD on a day-to-day basis.
The purpose of the board is to develop the plan and budget of the our Special Services District, hold meetings which are open to the public to engage the business community and residents and other stakeholders as the daily work of the GSSD is executed. Members of the board serve terms lasting for five years, which can be renewed as appointments are approved by City Council.
The Board of Directors oversees seven committees which work with the board and the Executive Director and other staff to execute the missions and plans of the organization. Learn more about our Committees.
